This blog will focus on American literature of the 19th century, ranging from heavy-hitting classics like Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Washington Irving to the lesser-known forgotten figures like Fitz-Greene Halleck and Charles Fenno Hoffman. Each entry is inspired by an anniversary, be it a birthday, a death, a letter, a publication date, etc. Comments (and suggestions!) are welcome.
I'm hoping to go "live" on this blog beginning January 1, 2010.
